Food Recall: Big Blue Fisheries

ImageBig Blue Fisheries is recalling all smoked products packed between 9/24/2011 and 9/24/2013.  The improperly-prepared products where sold under the brands Big Blue Fisheries and Sitka Alaska Smoked Fish in Sitka, Alaska, and wholesale nationwide.

The firm initiated a voluntary recall after the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) conducted a routine  inspection and discovered that some of their products may not have been properly cooked.   As a result, they may be contaminated with bacteria that can cause life-threatening illness if consumed.
